Musallah Palace
Located in southern Shuneh in the Jordan Valley, Musallah Palace was a winter residence for the Founding King Abdullah I. It was famed as a meeting place for intellectuals, poets and opinion leaders.
"The Founding King named it Musallah, ‘a place of prayer,’ because he would often stop there to perform Asr or Maghrib prayers upon his return from performing the noon prayer at Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, just 50 kilometres away"

The Palace was the place where His Majesty King Abdullah I saw off the Jordanian troops leaving for battle on 15 May 1948 to defend Palestine. He delivered a speech in the presence of Arab League Secretary General Abdul Rahman Azzam.
