King, Biden discuss dangerous developments in Gaza
His Majesty King Abdullah II and US President Joe Biden, in a phone call on Friday, discussed the dangerous developments in Gaza and efforts to reach an immediate and lasting ceasefire, as well as end the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
His Majesty stressed the need to end the war on Gaza immediately and ensure the flow of sufficient aid through all crossings, while guaranteeing its delivery to civilians across the Strip without delay or hindrance.
For his part, President Biden commended Jordan’s exceptional efforts, under His Majesty’s leadership, to bolster the humanitarian response in Gaza.
The two leaders discussed the developments in the West Bank and the importance of supporting the Palestinian Authority, with the King calling for ending all unilateral measures and extremist settler attacks against the Palestinians in the West Bank, as well as violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
His Majesty reaffirmed the important role of the United States in creating a political horizon to achieve just and lasting peace on the basis of the two-state solution.
President Biden stressed the United States’ support for Jordan as a key partner in efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.
The King and President Biden also discussed a number of bilateral issues and means to boost economic cooperation.
