King Ghazi bin Faisal I
His Majesty King Ghazi bin Faisal I, may his soul rest in peace, was the second King of Iraq, reigning in the period 1933-1939. He had evident pan-Arab leanings.
His Majesty was born in Mecca and lived in the care of his grandfather, Sharif Hussein bin Ali, Emir of Mecca and leader of the Great Arab Revolt.
His Majesty was named Crown Prince in 1924 and became King of Iraq in 1933. King Ghazi welcomed his only son, Faisal, in 1935.
