His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received US Under Secretary of Defence for Policy John Rood, Commander of the US Central Command Gen. Joseph Votel, and the accompanying delegation at Al Husseiniya Palace.

Discussions at the meeting covered the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, as well as regional developments.

The meeting also addressed means to advance cooperation, particularly in the military and defence fields, and regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach.

In addition, discussions touched on efforts to reach political solutions to crises in the Middle East.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, and Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas attended the meeting.
