His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday performed Umra (the lesser Muslim pilgrimage), and the maghreb, isha, and taraweeh prayers at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

In Jeddah, King Abdullah met with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and discussed Jordanian-Saudi ties and current developments in the region.

The two leaders voiced their pride in the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, expressing keenness to boost them further in all fields to serve their peoples’ interests and Arab and Islamic causes.

Discussions at the meeting also touched on Middle East crises, efforts to reach political solutions to them, and means to enable the region's peoples to live in peace and security.

The meeting included a dinner banquet hosted by King Salman in honour of His Majesty and the accompanying delegation, attended by a number of members of the Saudi royal family and senior officials from both countries.

Prime Minister Hani Mulki, Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Adnan Jundi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Adviser to His Majesty and National Policies Council Rapporteur Abdullah Wreikat also attended the meeting.

Upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, His Majesty was received by Prince Khalid Al Faisal, the governor of Mecca region, as well as a number of senior Saudi officials, and the staff of the Jordanian consulate in Jeddah.
