King visits border guard unit, joins unit personnel for Iftar

28 June 2016

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Tuesday visited a Border Guard unit, and commended the great efforts Border Guards personnel exert in dealing with the challenges at hand.

King Abdullah stressed that the coward terrorist act that recently targeted a military post for serving Syrian refugees on the northeastern front will only increase JAF personnel’s determination to defend the homeland’s security and stability.

Seven Jordanian troops were killed and 13 injured when a car bomb struck a forward military post at the no man's land at the borders between Syria and Jordan, the JAF said.

His Majesty was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff and King’s Military Adviser Gen. Mashal Al Zaben.

The King performed maghreb prayer with the unit personnel and joined them for iftar meal.
