King returns to Jordan after working visit to US, official visit to UK

His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, returned to Jordan on Saturday after a working visit to the United States and an official visit to the United Kingdom.

In the United States, King Abdullah participated in the Aqaba Meetings, hosted by the US in partnership with Jordan to continue coordination and follow-up on international efforts to counter terrorism.

In the UK, His Majesty participated in the London Initiative Conference, hosted by the British government in partnership with the Jordanian government.

The King delivered the keynote speech at the conference, urging global investors and business leaders to tap into the competitive advantages and business opportunities offered by Jordan’s powerhouse of talented, aspiring young people and central geo-strategic position, connecting continents and markets.

Their Majesties and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II also met with Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom at Buckingham Palace.

Queen Elizabeth II hosted a luncheon in honour of Their Majesties and Crown Prince Al Hussein.

Moreover, His Majesty held talks with British Prime Minister Theresa May to discuss the importance of advancing Jordan-UK cooperation.

The King also held separate meetings with World Bank Group Interim President Kristalina Georgieva, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and British political, economic, and intellectual figures.
