King returns to Jordan

His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, returned to Jordan on Wednesday after a working visit to Japan.

During the visit, Their Majesties met with Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, as well as Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako.

King Abdullah also held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and delivered remarks to the press.

Discussions covered the historical ties of friendship between the two countries and means to broaden cooperation in various sectors, especially economic and investment-related fields.

His Majesty and Prime Minister Abe witnessed the signing of an agreement for a $300 million development policy loan presented by the Japanese government over three years to support Jordan’s budget, in addition to a bilateral investment treaty to promote and protect investments.

The working visit also included a series of meetings the King held with a number of Japanese officials and business leaders.
