King returns home

His Majesty King Abdullah returned to Jordan on Friday after concluding a working visit to New York City, where His Majesty headed Jordan’s delegation at the 72nd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, King Abdullah met with heads of state and delegations participating in the UN meetings and discussed means to strengthen Jordan’s ties with their countries.

Discussions also covered overall regional and international developments, as well as efforts to push the peace process forward, and fight terrorism and extremism.

Moreover, the meetings touched on developments in the Syrian crisis, and means to support Jordan as it continues to host Syrian refugees.

His Majesty also held talks with US President Donald Trump on efforts to move the Palestinian-Israeli peace process forward, as well as various regional developments.

The talks covered ways to bolster the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States in various fields, with the two sides expressing keenness to enhance coordination and consultations on various issues.
