His Majesty King Abdullah has received a letter of thanks from the heads of Arab parliaments and councils as well as the heads of delegations who participated in the 29th session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union hosted by Jordan.

In the letter, Arab parliamentary leaders thanked King Abdullah for his support of the meeting, held under the theme “Jerusalem: the eternal capital of the Palestinian state”.

They commended His Majesty’s steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and his keenness to reach a just solution that guarantees the Palestinians’ legitimate right to establish an independent state on their national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They also reaffirmed the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, reiterating their rejection of any measures to alter the historical and legal status quo in the holy city.
