King receives Qatari emir

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Queen Alia International Airport, upon his arrival on an official visit to Jordan.

King Abdullah will hold talks with Sheikh Tamim on bilateral ties and the latest regional developments.

An official welcoming ceremony was held for Sheikh Tamim at the airport.

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, adviser to His Majesty and chairperson of the National Policies Council; Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, the escort of honour; Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein, His Majesty’s chief royal councillor; Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy; and Prince Rashid bin El Hassan were among those receiving the Qatar emir.

A number of senior Jordanian and Qatari officials were also present.

Welcoming banners lined Amman’s streets to mark the official visit of Sheikh Tamim, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation from Qatar.
