King receives president of Kurdistan Region in Iraq

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday received President of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq Masoud Barzani, who is currently in Jordan to take part in the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa that will be held at the Dead Sea.

During the meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, King Abdullah highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Iraq, stressing his keenness to boost them further in the interest of both countries.

Discussions also addressed means to boost cooperation between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region, especially in the economic and investment fields.

His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan's support for efforts to enhance security and stability in Iraq and achieve national reconciliation.

The meeting also covered the latest developments in Iraq, with the two sides stressing the need to support efforts to fight and defeat Daesh.

Barzani voiced keenness to forge closer cooperation with Jordan in various fields, thanking the King for his support to the people of Iraq.
