King receives Omani minister responsible for foreign affairs
His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousef bin Alawi, who conveyed to His Majesty the greetings of Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman.
During the meeting at Basman Palace, the two sides reaffirmed the solid ties between Jordan and Oman, expressing keenness to activate cooperation agreements in all fields, especially in economy, investment, military, and security areas.
The two sides also stressed the importance of convening the Joint Jordanian-Omani Committee.
The meeting covered the latest regional developments, particularly in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, as well as means to address them.
King Abdullah expressed his appreciation for Oman’s efforts, led by Sultan Qaboos, to defuse the tensions of crises in the region.
His Majesty urged the Omani minister to convey his greetings to Sultan Qaboos.
Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, Oman’s Ambassador to Jordan Khamis Al Farisi, and members of the accompanying delegation attended the meeting.
