6 May 2017

His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday received Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and discussed means of expanding cooperation between Jordan and Singapore, especially in economic and investment fields.

During the meeting, attended by Prime Minister Hani Mulki, King Abdullah underlined the need to build on the Singaporean prime minister's visit to Jordan last year and the free trade agreement between the two countries, which will contribute to increasing the volume of two-way investments in a number of vital sectors.

Discussions also touched on the regional and global fight against terrorism, within a holistic approach, in addition to Jordan's efforts, led by His Majesty, to highlight the true image of Islam.

Balakrishnan expressed his country's appreciation of Jordan's pivotal role in achieving security and stability in the region. He stressed Singapore's keenness to expand cooperation with the Kingdom into advanced levels to serve common interests.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan also attended the meeting.
