King meets with Indian FM

His Majesty King Abdullah met on Wednesday with India’s Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and discussed means to strengthen Jordanian-Indian cooperation, as well as regional and international developments.

King Abdullah called for maintaining coordination and consultations between the two countries on various issues of mutual concern, reaffirming keenness to advance relations in multiple sectors, including the economic, investment, commercial, and defence fields.

Discussions also covered efforts to resolve crises in the Middle East politically, in addition to efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach.

His Majesty noted the important role of India in supporting work to reach political solutions in the region, and in bolstering security and stability, as well as in fighting terrorism and extremism.

For her part, Swaraj said India appreciates Jordan’s pivotal role, led by the King, in ensuring security and stability in the Middle East and the world, and in dealing with regional crises.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas, and Jordan’s Ambassador to India Hassan Al Jawarneh attended the meeting.
