King meets EBRD president
His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, met on Wednesday with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Sir Suma Chakrabarti, on the sidelines of the EBRD’s 27th Annual Meeting and Business Forum.
Discussions covered the importance of the Bank’s investments in vital sectors in Jordan, such as renewable energy, water, infrastructure, and pharmaceuticals.
King Abdullah praised the EBRD’s efforts to support economic growth and business environments in its countries of operation.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for further cooperation between Jordan and the EBRD, and the potential to build partnerships with the public and private sectors in the Kingdom.
The EBRD president expressed appreciation for the measures taken by Jordan to ensure the Annual Meeting’s success, adding that the Bank seeks to expand and diversify its activities and investments in the Kingdom.
Prime Minister Hani Mulki, Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas, Adviser to His Majesty for Economic Affairs Mohamad Al Ississ, and Planning Minister Imad Fakhoury attended the meeting.
