King holds talks with Kuwaiti emir

His Majesty King Abdullah and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah held talks in Kuwait City on Tuesday, covering the deep-rooted bilateral ties and current regional developments.

King Abdullah and Sheikh Sabah highlighted the advanced level of relations between the two countries, stressing their keenness to strengthen cooperation in the economic and commercial fields, and increase Kuwaiti investments in a number of vital sectors in Jordan.

His Majesty affirmed Jordan’s deep appreciation of Kuwait’s ongoing support amidst various circumstances, and its readiness to bolster the Kingdom’s economy.

The talks, held at Dasman Palace and attended by senior officials on both sides, addressed the importance of maintaining coordination and consultations on various issues and regional challenges, in service of the Arab nation and its just causes.

The King also noted the important efforts of Sheikh Sabah in service of Arab causes and bolstering Arab solidarity.

Moreover, discussions covered current regional developments and the need to reach political solutions to the various crises, while continuing efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach.

For his part, Sheikh Sabah expressed appreciation for Jordan’s honourable positions in standing by its Arab brethren, and its important role, led by His Majesty, in serving Arab causes and bolstering joint Arab action, as well as seeking security and stability in the region.

Sheikh Sabah hosted an iftar banquet in honour of the King and the accompanying Jordanian delegation, attended by senior Kuwaiti officials and officers.

Earlier, Sheikh Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, as well as a number of senior Kuwaiti officials, Jordan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Saqr Abu Shattal, and senior embassy staff had received His Majesty upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport.
