His Majesty King Abdullah received a phone call from Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Wednesday, and discussed the latest developments related to Jerusalem, after US President Donald Trump recognised the city as Israel’s capital and decided to move the United States embassy there.

In the phone call, King Abdullah emphasised that the decision will have serious implications on regional security and stability, and it will undermine efforts to resume the peace process.

His Majesty called for supporting the Palestinians in their efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
