King discusses Jerusalem in phone call with Egyptian President

10 December 2017

His Majesty King Abdullah received a phone call on Sunday from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and discussed the developments connected to Jerusalem, after a United States decision to recognise it as the capital of Israel and to move the US embassy there.

King Abdullah called for supporting the Palestinians in their efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

His Majesty also reaffirmed the importance of intensifying Arab, Islamic, and international efforts to safeguard the rights of Palestinians, Muslims, and Christians in Jerusalem, which is key to regional peace and stability.
