His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday sent a cable to Audrey Azoulay, congratulating her on her election as UNESCO’s new director general.

Wishing Azoulay success in her new post, King Abdullah affirmed Jordan’s commitment to continuing its cooperation with UNESCO as it strives to safeguard the cultural heritage of humanity, promotes the right for all to receive quality education, and aids member states in the drive against violent extremism.
