King attends tactical military exercise
His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Tuesday attended a tactical exercise conducted by the Second Royal Armoured Battalion of the 40th King Hussein bin Talal Royal Armoured Brigade.
King Abdullah joined his brothers in arms for part of the drill, participating in a marksmanship exercise.
His Majesty expressed pride in JAF personnel, commending their readiness and high morale.
The exercise included reconnaissance operations, aerial support by Cobra attack helicopters, live fire, and the utilization of tanks and various artillery.
The King also met with retired brothers in arms who served with His Majesty on the Second Royal Armoured Battalion, joining them for breakfast.
During his military service, the King, in 1992, became commander of the Second Royal Armoured Battalion.
The military retirees attended Tuesday’s tactical exercise and helped the Second Royal Armoured Battalion’s personnel in tank maintenance and ammunition transport.
A number of senior military officers and heads of formations in the Central Military Region attended the exercise.
