King attends exercise by gendarmerie units

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, visited the Jordanian Gendarmerie-Regional Centre of Excellence for Public Order Training on Monday, and was received by General Directorate of the Gendarmerie Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh.

During the visit, King Abdullah met with Hawatmeh and discussed a number of security and administrative issues related to the work of the gendarmerie directorate.

The King was also briefed on the training centre’s expansion and key developments that propelled it to achieve the highest international standards as one of the best security training centres in the region and the world.

In addition, His Majesty attended a live fire security exercise conducted by gendarmerie units that included the utilisation of drones, medical evacuation, and the detention of dangerous suspects.

After the exercise, the King praised the advanced level of the gendarmerie forces, in terms of armament and training, commending the personnel’s high morale.
