King attends ceremony marking anniversary of Prophet Mohammad’s birth

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday attended a ceremony to mark the anniversary of Prophet Mohammad’s birth, held by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs at the Royal Cultural Centre.

During the ceremony, attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein and Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein, King Abdullah honoured a number of contributors to charity in the fields of education and supporting orphans.

His Majesty also honoured a number of model citizens, such as taxi driver Omar Momani, who found a sum of JD25,000 and returned it to the owner, and university student Ahmad Maaytah, who found a bag containing JD7,000 and turned it over to the authorities. The bag was later returned to its owner.

A number of senior officials and officers, heads of security agencies, diplomats, and Muslim and Christian religious leaders attended the ceremony.
