Crown Prince inaugurates Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Park
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of the Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Park in Sweimeh near the Dead Sea tourist area, established under a royal initiative.
The Crown Prince toured the facilities of the park, which extends over 240 dunums and was carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to organise tourist activities in the area, ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents, and protect the environment.
During the ceremony, attended by Royal Hashemite Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi, Public Works Minister Sami Halaseh gave a briefing on the two-phase project, built on Jordan Free and Development Zones Group land.
The park includes 500 shaded spaces for families, a futsal court, a sand volleyball court, and horse and camel riding trails.
It also houses a parking lot that accommodates up to 500 vehicles, a number of kiosks, and administrative facilities.
The park, which opened to the public on Saturday, is managed by the Greater Amman Municipality, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate.
