King, Queen depart for Morocco and Portugal

Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Sunday departed Amman for Morocco on a working visit to the North African country that will be followed by an official visit to Portugal.

In Morocco, King Abdullah will discuss with Moroccan King Mohammad VI means to foster bilateral relations and coordinate Arab policy on different regional and international issues, including the realization of peace and stability in the region.

During his visit to Portugal, the King will hold talks with Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva, Prime Minister Jose Socrates and senior officials on ways of boosting relations between the two countries, mainly in the political, economic and trade fields.

Talks are also expected to focus on issues of mutual concern, chief among which is the Middle East peace process.

King Abdullah will also meet with a group of Portuguese businesspeople and private sector representatives, who will take part in the Jordanian business forum that coincides with the King's visit.

King Abdullah is accompanied on his visit to Morocco by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Talal Bin Mohammad and Princess Ghaida Talal, Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, King's Advisor Ayman Safadi and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as regent in the presence of cabinet ministers.
