King discusses tourism, cultural cooperation opportunities in Shanghai

His Majesty King Abdullah II discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation with China in the tourism sector, during a meeting in Shanghai on Wednesday with Trip.com Group, a leading global travel service provider.
During the visit, His Majesty was briefed by Executive Vice President Bo Sun and Senior Vice President Amanda Wang on Trip.com’s areas of operation, programmes to promote tourist destinations, and efforts to integrate cultural heritage with tourism activities.
The King underscored Jordan’s interest in increasing the number of Chinese visitors to the Kingdom, in order to experience the diversity of its cultural, natural, and archaeological sites and tourism offerings.
The meeting also touched on ways to collaborate on enhancing smart marketing efforts to promote tourist destinations, and the importance of establishing new and increased air links between Jordan and China.
Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah, and Jordan’s Ambassador to China Hussam Husseini accompanied His Majesty on the visit.
