King discusses peace efforts with British Foreign Secretary

His Majesty King Abdullah met with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband on Monday to discuss efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution.

The King stressed the importance of the role of Europe and the international community in supporting negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis and contributing to the achievement of a just peace in the region, in accordance with international resolutions and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

The meeting, which also covered Jordan-UK relations and bilateral cooperation, was also attended by Chief of the Royal Court Nasser Lozi, King's Adviser Ayman Safadi, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and British Ambassador in Amman James Watt.
