

Crown Prince meets with UK foreign secretary

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Tuesday met with UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Yvette Cooper.
The Crown Prince commended the distinguished relations between Jordan and the United Kingdom, noting the two countries’ shared vision for achieving peace in the Middle East.
His Royal Highness praised the UK’s decision to recognise the State of Palestine, underscoring the need to take serious steps to achieve just and comprehensive peace, on the basis of the two-state solution.
The Crown Prince said implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza must be ensured, and the humanitarian response must be stepped up in order to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.
The meeting also touched on the need to support the efforts of the Palestinian National Authority to serve the interests of all Palestinians, in addition to supporting Syria and Lebanon’s efforts to maintain their stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Jordan’s Ambassador to the UK Manar Dabbas, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain attended the meeting.
