20 October 2025

His Majesty King Abdullah II, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, visited the Muslim Cultural Centre in Ljubljana on Monday.

His Majesty toured the centre and was briefed by Mufti of the Islamic community in Slovenia Nevzet Porić about religious, cultural, and educational activities organised by the centre.

Mufti Porić highlighted the importance of the King’s efforts to promote the values of mutual understanding and respect among religions, praising His Majesty’s initiatives in this regard, including the World Interfaith Harmony Week, which was endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly.

Mufti Porić also commended Jordan’s vital role in supporting Palestinians, the Kingdom’s humanitarian response efforts in Gaza, and its facilitation of the delivery of relief aid provided by Slovenia to the Strip.

The King and the Crown Prince also visited the centre’s Ljubljana Mosque, which serves around 150,000 Muslims in Slovenia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan’s non-resident Ambassador to Slovenia Mohammad Hindawi attended the meeting.
