King visits army headquarters, commends efforts to safeguard homeland

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday reaffirmed pride in JAF personnel for their efforts to safeguard the homeland and ensure the wellbeing of citizens.
 
During a visit to the General Command of the JAF, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, King Abdullah praised the readiness of JAF personnel, voicing pride in their advanced level and their efforts during the ongoing exceptional circumstances facing Jordan.
 
His Majesty met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti and praised the positive impact of the humanitarian efforts of JAF personnel on public morale, describing it as a reflection of the spirit of partnership between state institutions and citizens.
 
Commenting on the situation in Irbid Governorate, the King commended JAF’s role in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of its residents.
 
His Majesty said the partnership between the JAF and the public, and citizens’ sense of responsibility are a source of pride for all Jordanians that must continue.
 
The King called for providing all forms of medical assistance to the public, and ensuring citizens’ needs of basic food commodities around the Kingdom are covered.
 
The meeting also addressed a number of operational, training and logistical issues concerning the JAF.
 
Moreover, His Majesty met, via teleconference, with a number of senior JAF officers and commanders to discuss the progress of their operations, tasks and duties during the ongoing exceptional circumstances to counter coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
 
The King was also briefed on the preparedness of the Royal Medical Services to counter the spread of COVID-19 and the measures implemented for those who were under quarantine, including the process of releasing them.
