His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday received a letter from retired Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, the former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.

In the letter, Freihat highlighted the great attention King Abdullah has always given to the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), so that it has become an example of professionalism and excellence recognised around the world.

He also underscored the JAF’s commitment to the principles of the Great Arab Revolt, noting its humanitarian role and its efforts to safeguard the homeland in the face of regional challenges.

Freihat concluded the letter by reaffirming his commitment to serving Jordan.
