A Royal Decree was issued on Thursday promoting Gen. Sa'ad Khair to Field Marshal and appointing him as King's Adviser on Security Affairs and Director of the National Security as of May 5, 2005.

In a letter to Khair, His Majesty the King expressed appreciation for Khair's sincere efforts and dedication during his service as the General Intelligence Department Director.
