King meets Australian defence minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received Australian Defence Minister Marise Payne and discussed means to enhance cooperation, especially in military and defence fields.

The meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, also addressed the latest regional developments, focusing on Syria and Iraq.

Talks covered the fight against terrorism, with both sides stressing the need to intensify cooperation and coordination among all regional and international stakeholders within a holistic approach to counter this threat to global security and stability.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan and Australian Ambassador to Jordan Miles Armitage also attended the meeting.
