King issues directives to provide aid to 30,000 families on occasion of Ramadan

22 May 2017

His Majesty King Abdullah has issued directives, with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan, to continue implementing a number of royal initiatives aimed at supporting underprivileged families, elderly people, orphans, and people with disabilities across the Kingdom.

In accordance with royal directives to the concerned officials at the Royal Hashemite Court, financial aid will be provided to 30,000 families in need across the Kingdom.

The royal directives also include supporting the Ministry of Social Development to enable it to carry out a number of activities during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr that serve people with disabilities, orphans, and the elderly, through the governmental and voluntary organisations it supervises.

This assistance is distributed twice every year—on the occasions of King Abdullah’s birthday and Ramadan. The aid benefits around 60,000 families around Jordan.
