King honours winners of King Abdullah II Award for Excellence

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday attended a ceremony to honour the winners of the eighth cycle of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence at Al Hussein Youth City’s Cultural Palace.

During the event, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, who chairs the King Abdullah II Centre for Excellence board of trustees, King Abdullah presented the awards to winning public and private sector institutions, as well as individuals.

A total of 104 ministries and public sector institutions took part in this year’s King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency, while 49 private sector institutions and companies competed for the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence for the Private Sector.

Launched in 2002, the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence is aimed at encouraging public and private institutions to adopt best practices, and instilling the culture of excellence in performance, quality, transparency and creativity.
