His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday congratulated Iraq Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi on winning the vote of confidence at the Iraqi parliament.
 
In a phone call, King Abdullah expressed pride in the deep, brotherly ties between the two countries and peoples, noting keenness to expand cooperation across various sectors.
 
His Majesty also stressed Jordan’s keenness to safeguard Iraq’s security and stability, and support all efforts to return on the right track and meet the aspirations of the people of Iraq.
 
The King said Jordan stands by the people of Iraq in their efforts to counter the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
 
The phone call also covered bilateral and international efforts to counter and contain COVID-19, with His Majesty wishing the Iraqi people good health and wellbeing.
