The Jordanian coat of arms was designed in 1921 and adopted as the official emblem in 1934. The Royal Hashemite Crown symbolizes monarchy as the system of government in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The crown is composed of five interlaced arches, with beaded design, attached to a base ornamented with rubies and emeralds.
