King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD)

The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), which was created in 2001 as a non-governmental organization, seeks to achieve development in the various governorates of the Kingdom through developmental, social and educational projects aimed to achieve a fair distribution of sustainable development's benefits. This is ensured through partnerships with the private sector and civil society institutions, in a manner that improves the living standards of citizens.

KAFD's programs and projects are designed to serve individuals, groups, companies and public and private institutions with an action framework aimed to achieve the goals of the fund, namely, transparency, productivity, profitability, sustainability, cooperation and effective financing.
The fund seeks to push forward the sustainable development process through optimal utilization of citizens' potential and increasing their productivity through training and rehabilitation and supporting innovation and excellence.
The fund’s activities focus on two main areas:
- Non-profit development program and initiatives that support empowerment of citizens through education, training or rehabilitation; improve their living standards; and encourage creativity and excellence, especially among youth.
- Profitable investment projects that contribute to comprehensive development in different governorates by establishing pilot production projects that help reduce poverty and unemployment.
